Third Lantern Lit hosts workshops and events for the local writing community. This includes a generative writing series, craft workshops, roundtables led by local writers such as Alex Jennings, Jami Attenberg and Maurice Carlos Ruffin, industry panels, and an annual one-day writers' retreat where 30 writers gather to spend a day writing, workshopping and bolstering each other's creativity.

All of our events are free due to the generous support of our community partners and volunteers.

New Orleans writers include journalists, poets, memoirists and fiction writers of all genres. Our creative community flourishes and supports each other, adding to the vibrant history of our city's literary traditions.

The donations received will help us pay our workshop leaders, invite industry professionals from out of state to speak, host our popular one-day writing retreat twice a year, and expand our programming.
