St. Thomas Community CHC Inc
About this Organization
As one of the longest-serving primary health care providers in New Orleans for low-income families and individuals, St. Thomas offers a range of services that includes primary care, pediatrics, perinatal care, mental health counseling, optometry and women's health care. St. Thomas also offers specialty care in child and adult psychiatry, infectious diseases, gastroenterology, rheumatology, and cardiology. St. Thomas is one of a few community-based health centers with a multidisciplinary medical team that includes a dedicated infectious disease specialty team, treating and preventing the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C, and the only center with a cardiology team embedded in its primary care clinic. St. Thomas' patients also have access to an in-house pharmacy with low-cost prescription drug options. Across its service lines, St. Thomas works to address health inequities and lessen the impacts of health disparities in New Orleans, improving the health of its citizens through affordable, accessible care. Each year, St. Thomas, a Federally Qualified Health Center, serves more than 22,000 low-income, underinsured, and uninsured patients on both the East Bank and West Bank of New Orleans.
