Friends of the Rivertown Theaters was formed with the purpose of raising funds to purchase and maintain necessary theatrical equipment, building renovations, beautification of the property, raising community awareness of the existence of the theaters and Kenner's Rivertown district, and offering opportunities to participate in theatrical productions. The organization holds fundraising events, produces children's theater, solicits donations and sponsorships, and sells merchandise at events taking place at the theaters. Funds raised by Friends of the Rivertown Theaters will be used for maintenance and renovations of the city-owned public buildings, and lessening the burdens of government by purchasing / maintaining theatrical equipment. Any equipment purchases become the public property of the City of Kenner. Funds will also be used to present children's theatrical productions, and to offer scholarship opportunities for children in the community to participate in theater summer camps
