Educational Outreach: Collaborations with schools, museums, libraries, and other community partners across New Orleans allow us to engage children and adults. These initiatives not only teach sewing skills but also raise awareness about the environmental impact of textile waste and community cultivation. Textile Recycling Initiatives: Our monthly Community Textile Recycling Days serve as collection points for end-of-life textiles, diverting them from landfills. These events educate the public on responsible textile disposal while making a tangible impact on reducing the amount of fabric going into landfills. Throw Me Something Handmade: Unique throws made entirely from scrap fabric and salvaged materials. This initiative helps to make Carnival season more environmentally aware.
