GiVE NOLA DAY

New Orleans Workers Center for Racial Justice

About this Organization

The New Orleans Workers' Center for Racial Justice (Workers' Center) was founded in 2007 as a multi-racial organization dedicated to racial, gender, and immigrant justice, and focused on building power at the intersection of race and the economy. In a political climate that often divides communities of color, a group of Black and immigrant workers united from various backgrounds across Louisiana to create a new freedom movement. This movement is committed to racial and immigrant justice and aims to reshape narratives about possibility in the South. A decade later, the Workers' Center has become an impact strategy center for workers's rights and membership organizations. We are dedicated to expanding democracy, achieving economic justice, and transforming the South as a foundation for broader change. As we enter this new phase, we are preparing to advance a long-term agenda for an inclusive economy.
