GiVE NOLA DAY

New Orleans Jazz Museum

About this Organization

We fully explore America's quintessential musical art form in the city where Jazz was born. The music of the famous early jazz musicians -- Buddy Bolden, Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet -- has transitioned through time to music for a new generation, created by artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, and Irma Thomas. The Jazz Museum covers it all, through live performances, dynamic interactive exhibits, research, and educational programming for all ages. Housed in the historic Old U.S. Mint which served as a branch of the U.S. Mint from 1838-1861 and from 1879-1901, the Museum is strategically located at the intersection of the French Quarter and the Frenchmen Street live music corridor, in the heart of the city's vibrant music scene. By providing diverse resources for musicians and music lovers of all languages and nationalities, we enhance New Orleans' ongoing cultural renaissance.
