GiVE NOLA DAY

New Voices New Orleans

About this Organization

Compared to 92% of traditional public schools in the United States, Artist Corps New Orleans recently reported that only 60% of New Orleans public schools host music programs. Inside of that, only a handful are focused on singing. New Voices New Orleans (NVNO) aims to ensure that every child has access to rigorous vocal music experiences at the school level, and is a proud partner to the city's public schools. Only in our first full fiscal year, we are already serving over 160 participants in four partner schools: KIPP Central City Primary, KIPP Central City Academy, KIPP Believe Primary, and Hynes UNO. These programs produce two full-length concert series each year, as well as a lagniappe holiday series at partner sites like The Roosevelt New Orleans. For the first time ever, we are uniting all of our programs for a season finale concert, "Here We Come," on GiveNOLA Day at the New Orleans Jazz Market. Please join us on May 6th as our singers perform contemporary repertoire from New Orleans' own Jon Batiste, Sweet Crude, and Tank & the Bangas, alongside their own new compositions. Excitedly, we will be joined on stage by our featured artist, the Grammy-nominated band Cha Wa!
