GiVE NOLA DAY

Louvis Services

About this Organization

Through our partnerships with the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, the Louisiana Housing Corporation, the City of New Orleans Office of Homeless Services and Strategy, and over one hundred individual donors, we have built two tiny houses in the Lower 9th Ward on previously vacant lots.

In collaboration with Tulane University's UrbanBuild Program, we are building our third tiny house, a duplex that will be the home of someone who lives on the street or in shelter. UrbanBuild student volunteers designed and built the house, which is scheduled for completion in May

Traveler's Aid Society of New Orleans will provide case management services to assist our tenants in accessing counseling, independent living skills training, money management, and vocational programs. Harm reduction services focus on health, mental health, and drug and alcohol use. Certified behavioral health services are available through our service partner.

Our residents are encouraged to participate in the edible landscape program offered at each property. Our organization provides fruit trees, vegetable and berry plants, seeds, and the tools needed to start and manage a garden.
