Live Oak started in 2014 to answer the question: what if the future leaders of New Orleans became friends at age 9?

For 11 years we have been working in service to that question, Since founding, over 1,000 youth representing 237 schools across New Orleans have experienced the transformative power of camp. That's 40,000 days of camper programming in the summer, and all year long.

Today we lead five core initiatives for 8-25 year-olds:
1) Summer Camp gives young people a foundational experience as friends at summer camp, where they learn and grow as cabinmates.
2) Wilderness Adventure Backpacking Trips immerse young people in challenging small group outdoors experiences to grow connections to one another, love of nature, and skills as outdoors people.
3) Monthly Gatherings bring young people and their families together regularly throughout the year.
4) Year-Round Leadership Training provides rigorous, intentional development experiences to help accelerate our people's growth as citizens, teammates, and leaders.
5Beyond Camp Support & Network Building provides coaching, advising, and access to resources to help our people connect and explore career interests.
