Entering its 17th year, Doves of Peace, Inc. provides supportive services and execute activities for the youth, seniors, and domestic violence survivors in the River Parishes (St. Charles, St. James and St. John the Baptist Parishes). Since 2010 Doves of Peace, Inc. has awarded college book stipend awards, to graduating high school seniors, upon entering a four-year college or university. Preparing youth for a healthy and productive future is imperative. Programs such as social graces, how to prepare to attend college, exposure to different adventures and co-sponsor fishing camps are executed. Doves of Peace also service senior citizens. Senior programming are such as seasonal holiday celebrations, visiting the nursing and veterans' homes to entertain and lift spirits and providing needed toiletries. Doves of Peace, Inc. programming uses a combination of interactive, holistic, and multidimensional outreach programs designed to enhance, cultivate, and empower participants to develop health-promoting lifestyle choices across their lifespan.
