One second is all the time it takes to sustain a brain and/or spinal cord injury. One second can mean the difference between walking or living life in a wheelchair. One second you are able to communicate, and the next second, you have trouble speaking and knowing what to say. One second a person is independent and the next second, dependent on someone else. One second, lives are shattered. But with the right connections, resources, and support, those lives can be pieced together and not lost. Put yourself or a loved one in that "one second" position.
