Algiers Charter School Association

About this Organization

Algiers Charter is a charter school network authorized by the Orleans Parish School Board that operates: Martin Behrman Charter School Academy of Creative Arts and Sciences and L.B. Landry High School. Founded in 2005, we provided the first educational options for families after Hurricane Katrina.

We are a charter network built for the community by the community.

Our schools are designed to support each child's academic, social, and emotional journey. We offer students an education that meets their unique strengths and needs regardless of their backgrounds and circumstances so that they are prepared to achieve personal successes and realize their full potential.

Martin Behrman Charter School: Academy of Creative Arts and Sciences houses our PK4 and K-8 programs, an academy of creative arts and sciences, where we serve more than 900 students.

L.B. Landry High School houses our program for students in grades 9-12 where we serve more than 600 students. Our high school offers four academies of learning. Each one is based on Louisiana's graduation pathways and is designed to give students a true path to prosperity that meets their individual life and career aspirations.
